Our Inspiration
The Human Rights Special Interest Group (HR-SIG) embraces the expectation in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights that “every individual and every organ of society…shall strive by teaching and education to promote respect for the (human) rights and freedoms…”
This image is a small section of a tapestry depicting peace, prosperity, and equality. Designed by Peter Colfs, the tapestry was a gift to the United Nations from Belgium in 1954 and is displayed in the UN General Assembly Building.
